Line 1 is the backbone of the Reykjavík city bus system. Running from the downtown core at Hlemmur all the way south to Hafnarfjörður (Skarðshlíð), it coordinates transit across the major municipalities.
Key Interchange Stops
- Hlemmur: Main starting hub in downtown Reykjavík.

- Kringlan: Stopping right next to the Kringlan Shopping Mall.

Frequency
During standard hours on weekdays, Line 1 runs every 10 to 15 minutes, making it the most frequent and dependable line. Weekend departures run every 30 minutes. The service starts at 06:30 and terminates near midnight daily.
