Mjódd — Platform A

Mjódd is Reykjavík's main bus terminal and the largest transit hub in Iceland. All major Strætó city routes converge here, and it's the departure point for long-distance countryside buses to Akureyri, Selfoss, Borgarnes, and beyond. If you're connecting between city buses or catching a countryside route, this is where you transfer.

🏔️ About Mjódd Terminal

Reykjavík's Central Bus Station

Mjódd is the beating heart of Reykjavík's public transit system. Located in the eastern part of the city, the terminal has 5 platforms (A–E) — platforms A–D serve urban Strætó routes within the capital area, while platform E handles all long-distance countryside buses (Routes 50–57 and beyond).

The terminal features a heated indoor waiting area, real-time departure screens, a Strætó information desk, and is right next to the Mjódd shopping centre with a grocery store, cafés, and other services. Most city bus routes pass through Mjódd every 15–30 minutes on weekdays.

💡
Transfer Hub

Mjódd is where city meets countryside. If you're heading outside the capital area, look for Platform E — that's where Routes 50, 51, 52, 57 and other long-distance buses depart.
