🚨 March 2026 Strætó Restructuring Update

Beware of Outdated Guides!

Prior to March 1, 2026, travellers taking the bus to Perlan were forced to disembark at the bottom of the hill and complete a steep 400-meter uphill climb. Many legacy travel blogs and maps still display this outdated information.

What Changed?

  • New "Perlan" Stop: Strætó realigned Line 18 to drive up Öskjuhlíð hill directly to the main dome entrance. Always disembark here.
  • "Litlahlíð" Renaming: The old bus stop at the bottom of the hill was renamed to Litlahlíð.
  • Line 13: Lines 13, 14, 15, and 19 were also retimed to optimize transfers in the capital network.
